Style of Worship
The church is ready for worship at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday. Following ten minutes of quiet preparation, communal worship is based on a typical Church of England structure.
Our teaching is always Bible based but we are far from having a literalist acceptance of scripture. We seek the truth that the Bible reveals within its words rather than merely attempt to make a religion of the words themselves. Our emphasis is on realising the Christ within every human and living a life that respects and rejoices in that truth.
The congregation represents fifteen countries in origin and is widely spread over age and gender. It also demonstrates a large diversity of religious background. Few are life-long Anglicans. Most are Roman Catholic, Adventist, Methodist and Baptist. It is apparent that this congregation is deeply spiritually sensitive and seeks to enhance that experience of their spirit guiding their life.
On the first Sunday of each month, we spend time in deep contemplative prayer. This has been the means of much healing, not only physically but also the healing of memories and guilt and inability to forgive. It has given release.
At our communion services, we share bread and wine and have always welcomed everyone from other churches.
We love to sing and have lots of hymns.
Our priest is readily available to those wanting private guidance or prayer.
